My name is Tami, and I am a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Girl Boss, Fibro Warrior and creator of The Fibro Tribe and Fibro Wealth. I created this lifestyle blog page to raise awareness and share my journey about the impact of living with the challenging symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
This business was created with the chronically ill woman in mind. As the owner, I have personally lived with a debilitating case of Fibromyalgia for 46 years. Over time, I grew tired of trying to conform to traditional work structures that did not accommodate my health needs. After facing a series of unfortunate events, I decided to take charge and create what I had been searching for - thus, Fibro Wealth was born!
I dedicated nearly a year to researching the best approach to develop a platform that could benefit others like me. Don’t get me wrong, I had more than my fair share of challenges and the inevitable shiny things and rabbit holes that distracted me, but I am happy with my results. I hope you will be too!
During the last 6 months of that year, I was dealing with a severe fibromyalgia flare, PTSD symptoms, a wicked case of menopause, grief from the loss of two loved ones, and the diagnoses of cancer in both my husband and our beloved dog. To say the least I was living in the middle of a real life "shit show". But despite all that I managed to continue working from my phone. This firsthand experience has shown me that even when faced with significant emotional and physical health challenges, it is possible to achieve financial security and find support, even if it does take me longer than other people. I have to remind myself to not compare myself to others and I often refer to my favorite quote, “Comparing is the thief of Joy!” (author unknown).
Working from my phone and sometimes a laptop has been a true blessing for me as a chronically ill woman, and I am committed to helping others in similar situations achieve their goals. It is important to always remember that Fibromyalgia does not define us as Humans and should never dictate our lives.
My goal is to create an online platform that offers comprehensive educational resources and unwavering support for women battling chronic Fibromyalgia. I firmly believe that every woman deserves the chance to build a life that caters to her individual needs and aspirations. Women should never have to give up one to have the other! Let's empower each other to thrive despite the challenges we face.
